Support for post-installation problems

gksudo's black screen persists.

Postby Soaa- » Mon Feb 26, 2007 5:28 am

Yup, I have that problem where gksudo's darkened screen persists even after I type my password. I have to blindly Alt+F2 and type in "compiz --replace gconf" to fix it.

Radeon Mobility 9000, open source drivers with AIGLX, Xorg 7.2 in Feisty.

Tips and tricks?

I get that too, although I use Alt-F3 (deskbar-appplet)

Please file a bug, on launchpad.net first (if you're using Ubuntu packages, else on freedesktop.org). I've been meaning too, but the Xorg migration has totally broken my compiz for the moment :)

I think it is a issue related to "Undirect fullscreen windows". Try disabling it, it should do the trick.

Another possibility is to enable "Password dialogs as floating windows" in gnome-at-properties.
