SuperKey aka Windows-Key: Change it to something else

Postby Elirips » Mon Mar 19, 2007 7:46 pm

Hello everybody

I am using Debian Etch and just installed compiz - working great, easy to install (took me not more than 10 minutes ;) ). Thanks!

But I still have one problem: The so called 'SuperKey' is per default the windows-key (or am I wrong??). But I have no windows-key on my keyboard (Thinkpad T40p). Is there an easy way to change the superkey to something else?

thanks for your help

I am not sure exactly how to do it, but the program you need is xmodmap

Code: Select all
man xmodmap

The keycodes and keysyms for the Super buttons are

115 - Super_L
116 - Super_R

I think Super_L is the one you need to remap

thanks for your help!

Remaping one of the useless keys to Super_L solved it. :)
