I did nothing to the package so I assume it is an Ubuntu-problem related to the update. Can you remember what packages you updated? What happens when you enter "screenletsd start" in a terminal?

EDIT: I know the reason. Sorcerer changed his packages - see here ...

The package was split into four. Because of that, normal update will not work so please update with:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get remove --purge screenlets && sudo apt-get install screenlets

Also, the repository signing key is updated so please run:
Code: Select all
wget http://hendrik.kaju.pri.ee/ubuntu/F854AFD7.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -

to update the key.

Thanks for posting this. I managed to get my update done with little hassle, other than a problem with the Now Playing screenlet, but I'm working on that on a different board.

Did we lose the control panel? I had it working once upon a time but lost it somehow and I can't for the life of me remember how I got it in the first place. I miss that little bugger. :(

You can add the ControlScreenlet by entering "screenletsd add Control" in a terminal ... :)

Actually I'm not looking for the Control screenlet, I have that one. I'm referring to Sorcerer's control panel. Of course I just realized that I meant to post my query to the main Screenlets thread, not this one.

It is still there if you have the screenlets-utils package installed. Just run screenlets-control or right-click on the tray icon and select Setting.

When I tried to apt-get the utils package I got
E: Couldn't find package screenlets-utils
I guess it's time to put on my hunting cap and track it down.

As an aside, you say to right click the tray icon, and I assume you mean the Compiz tray icon, but I've never seen one. My Beryl icon doesn't seem to have that option, but I'm assuming it's one of those things that will change with the merger.

You are using the Ubuntu repository, right? You can download the packages here also. And actually I meant the Screenlets tray icon :D

Ok, I didn't have those repos in Synaptic. I got them added, but I had some problems with your key. I got no response when adding it the normal way, but I managed to save it to my hard drive and add it via Synaptic.

I did manage to get the screenlets-utils package installed, I think, but I still don't see the control panel. I won't worry about it anymore for now. It's not that big a deal. Thanks again for the assists.
